Only in leftwing idiot land

Is ABC and Disney considered "right wing". Mike Stark equates both with Hitler. He needs a mental health check.

Addendum: Dan futher covers it here.

British forces hobbled by the British Government

In Afghanistan, the British Government is refusing to resupply high cost warfighting material due to the cost. As British troops valiantly oppose the Taliban, much of their gear is slowly falling apart. If the situation continues, the British soldiers will become less and less combat effective and their morale will sink further and further.

British soldiers fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan have had dozens of urgent requests for operational equipment turned down on cost grounds, it can be revealed.

Demands by officers for attack weapons and vital tools, as well as night-vision equipment and thermal-imaging devices used to distinguish friend from foe, have all been refused by the Ministry of Defence.

The death of Israel

PJ media has republished an essay about how one Israeli intellectual sees the future of the Jewish people in the state of Israel. It is entitled "This Holocaust will be Different" and it is a scary vision indeed.

The second holocaust will be quite different. One bright morning, in five or 10 years, perhaps during a regional crisis, perhaps out of the blue, a day or a year or five years after Iran’s acquisition of the Bomb, the mullahs in Qom will convene in secret session, under a portrait of the steely-eyed Ayatollah Khomeini, and give President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, by then in his second or third term, the go-ahead.

The orders will go out and the Shihab III and IV missiles will take off for Tel Aviv, Beersheba, Haifa and Jerusalem, and probably some military sites, including Israel’s half dozen air and (reported) nuclear missile bases. Some of the Shihabs will be nuclear-tipped, perhaps even with multiple warheads. Others will be dupes, packed merely with biological or chemical agents, or old newspapers, to draw off or confuse Israel’s anti-missile batteries and Home Front Command units.

3/3-1 the snake eaters

Bill Roggio went on a night patrol with the Iraqi Army's 3/3-1 and pronounced them proficient. If logistics are their only hang up, they have come a long way.

The Snake Eaters of the 3/3-1 are held in high esteem by the Marine and Army trainers at ASP Outpost. As with the the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division in Fallujah, the logistics and pay issues, along with a lack of heavy weapons, are what is holding the battalion back from operating without Coalition support. "This battalion can be independent if not for logistics," said Major Owen West, the commanding officer of the 3/3-1 Military Transition Team (or MTT). "We've pushed these guys as far as we can in the 7 months I've been here," said Army Sergent First Class Andrew Himes, a senior NCO on the MTT. “They're ready.”

The politics of dining

Down in Woodstock GA a new restaurant has opened. The proprietor has named it the Right Wing Tavern and it is all about politics.

These are heady days for the restaurant owner and operator, Jamey Snyder, whose menu selections and décor pay homage to conservative politicians while taking a few swipes at those on the left.

On the menu a prime rib sandwich, known as "The Kennedy" with "au jus for drowning," is a not-so-veiled reference to the Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy's troubled past.

"It comes with a martini olive," laughs Snyder.

An order of the George W. wings is described as "fiery with a little bit of Texas charm."

I never thought about a conservative themed eatery. This is capitalism in action I suppose.

The confederacy ruled the seas for 1 day a long time ago.

Until the Monitor came along. An amazingly interesting story.

There be Raptors in Virginia

Langley AFB has received it's 40th Raptor, making it the most advanced air wing in the world.

Designed to ensure America's air dominance for years to come, the F-22A will guarantee U.S. joint forces' freedom from attack and freedom to attack, even as adversaries continue to advance their weapons and technologies.

The arrival of the Raptor made Langley not only the first base to have operational F-22s, but also the first in the Air Force to receive its full compliment of assigned aircraft.

Both the 27th and the 94th Fighter Squadron, which were the first and second fighter squadrons in America, are now fully equipped with F-22s.

"It's amazing that 13 months ago, we were an F-15 fighter squadron, and today, we are officially an F-22 fighter squadron," said Lt. Col. Dirk Smith, 94th FS commander.

Who speaks for them?

Andi calls out Debra Pickett asking her to stop the fantasy and talk to the families of deployed soldiers, of the dead and wounded, and not jus exercise her overactive imagination.

And of course, there was the historic trip to Iraq by several Gold Star Families.

Oh, they're speaking, Ms. Pickett. Loud and clear. The problem is that you and your colleagues don't want to hear from them. But when Cindy Sheehan embarks on one of her endless crusades against America and the U.S. Military, your're all ears. Sometimes those of us with someone in the fight try to break through, even making direct contact with members of the media. As you might imagine, it usually doesn't go too well.

Mighty bold of you to lecture us about distractions, Ms. Pickett.

The story and the links are here.

The Tyranny of PC

Dale over at Q&O details the slow tyranny of the majority present in much of the country. When did we give our government the power to decide what we eat? What games we play? Whom we date? There is an old cliche 'There ought to be a law.' and this is why I have always despised it. Hit the link if you want to know.

Oath of office

When does the will of the people mean nothing in a democracy? I  guess it is when it interferes with the far left's talking points. Althouse is kind enough to chronical.

The Madison City Council voted 13-4 Tuesday to offer those taking an oath of public office a formal way to protest Wisconsin's new constitutional ban on gay marriage and civil unions.

The resolution, passed after 45 minutes of debate, allows officials to make a supplemental statement to the oath that notes they took it under protest because they disagree with the constitutional amendment passed by 59 percent of Wisconsin voters in November.

Fred Thompson?

Some argue that he is the next Reagan...

Is there such a man?  Yes, there is:  Fred Thompson.  He has been consistently conservative on social policy and his help in getting John Roberts confirmed as Chief Justice to the Supreme Court was critical.  Thompson has a record in the Senate and he voted conservative, according to the American Conservative Union, eighty-six percent of the time.

Although a conservative senator, he is well liked in the Senate.  He also knows the Senate very well, although he has not been a member of the Senate for five years.  Thompson also supported John McCain in 2000 and was his national co-chair.  He has managed to be friendly with McCain and yet a strong supporter of President Bush.  In short, he would be a unifier for the entire Republican Party and should receive the strong support of McCain, if Thompson won the nomination.

The most intriguing aspect of a Thompson candidacy, however, would be his extensive and successful experience as a movie star, a regular on two very popular television programsradio program reaches tens of millions of older Americans every single day.
(programs, pointedly, that are particularly popular with women voters), and now as the replacement for Paul Harvey, whose

There is another Republican who did a regular radio commentary, who appeared before the American people for years on a very popular television program, who before that was a successful movie star, and who had left politics for several years before running for president.  Who?  Ronald Reagan, of course.  He spoke to the American people with a radio commentary during the years between his defeat for the 1976 nomination and his run for the 1980 nomination.  He was on General Electric Theater, a highly rated show, for years before entering politics.  President Reagan honed his skills as a communicator at every single level.

They did not die in vain.

The Dems just think they died in a stupid war. There is no respect here, no support here and no trust here. They just want to see us fail. That is the totality of their position. I guess they just wanna see millions die like in SE Asia.
